What Hotels in Southern California have an in-room jacuzzi?

Posted by admin

Hi, I’m sure several hotels offer this amenity. Sorry, but I can’t name all of them.
Last month I stayed at the Best Western Laguna Brisas in Laguna Beach. The hotel was in a very beautiful area, and the rooms had jacuzzis. That place might be an option if you’re considering staying in the Laguna Beach area.

Where should I surf in Australia?

Posted by admin

I am from California and I’m lookin to head to OZ to catch some good surf. I am not sure weather I should stay to the South of NSW or head up to Queensland and hit the Gold Coast. I’m looking to score fun long rides preferably in the 8ft or under range.

Can anyone recommend what region I should go to? I will be there between Dec 25 – Jan. 10.

Other Q’s
**************************
1. Are there many places to camp near the coast or hostels to stay at?

2. Is the Sydney New Years Eve Celebration awesome?

Bondi Beach in Sydney

You should go to Sydney between DEC 25-JAN 10

The NYE Celebrations in Sydney are fantastic but you should get there early to get a good spot to see the bridge it is the center of the show.

Along the coast you will find plenty of cheap backpakers and hostels any were. Have fun when you are Sydney

Does anyone know where to get some really great food/tickets/hotel etc discounts coupons for Disneyland FL?

Any suggestions on saving money on this trip? For two adults. I live in Las Vegas NV.
Thank you
I’m going to Florida Kenzie.

With hotels, my wife and I always stay at the Marriott Village whenever we are staying in the Orlando area (It’s a complex containing a Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn, and Spring Hill Suites all next to each other).

It’s not on the Disney property, but it borders it and is just on the other side of exit 68 on I-4. It’s perfect because it’s reasonably priced for that area, the buildings are new, and it’s only a 10 minute drive from there to the Disney parks, and only a 15 minute drive to Universal (with no traffic of course).

To find the Marriott Village on any of the hotel-booking sites, search for the city "Lake Buena Vista, Florida."

where do i look for the best train and hotel deals?

Posted by admin

i’m looking to go to Plymouth from Taunton in just under 2 weeks time for a couple of nights with my partner, she went with a friend about 9 months ago for a great deal of £38 including train fare and hotel for 3 nites, where can i find something similar? as she cant remember how her friend booked it.

The answers you’ve had so far have ignored your question just to advertise hotel booking sites.

http://www.thetrainline.com is a well known reputable company who offer combined rail and hotel breaks, unfortunately even though they are a major company, the site had problems when I looked! so I couldn’t get beyond the rail portion e.g. outbound Friday 4 June, 10:18 return Monday 7 June, 13:43 would cost £21 each (2 x advance singles each).

I cannot believe your friend stayed in Plymouth hotel for £13 a night with rail fare thrown in, unless it was one of these newspaper token deals. I would have thought it would cost you £70 upwards each for 4 nights with rail.

Are there any cheap hotels in Laguna Beach California?

Posted by admin

I am meeting a few friends in Laguna Beach, and I am on a budget. With the $100 bus ticket and food expenses, I am needless to say looking for nothing more than four walls with a bed. Something in the $20-$40 a night range would be nice.

you are probally not going find any at that price
even hostels run up to $60.00

Staying in backpacker hostels San Francisco, any do’s, don’ts or hints?

Posted by admin

I’m a forty something woman traveling first time overseas from Australia to California in late October early November.
I need to stay in San Francisco for a few days (near as possible to Market St)
I’m wanting to find out about backpacker hostels in the city – more than what I can read on the net. Any advice about mmmm… where NOT to stay would be really appreciated and of course which you might think are the best especially if from personal experience.
Cost is obviously important or I’d be staying in a $250 a night hotel but when were talking under $50 for the night clean, quiet and convenient seem more appropriate.
Any heads up on similar places in Los Angeles for a few days till I get my bearings would also be appreciated although I hope to find a room in a private home to rent for a few months once I get there.
Cheers- Mandy

The Green Tortoise, Adelaide, Pacific Tradewinds, Hostelling International (on Ellis), etc… are all reasonably close to Market St. (5-10 minute walk), safe, and have good reputations among travelers. Keep in mind that hostels are cheap – that’s the idea. So they’re not always in the most ritzy neighborhood. But they’re also occupied by other travelers like yourself. Despite what the poster above says, the Tenderloin is completely safe and has several very nice hostels. It’s also a downtown neighborhood, so the junkies and tranny prostitutes (who are mixed amongst one of the highest populations of children/families in the city, students from the Academy of Arts and CIIS, etc…) don’t outweigh the convenience and accessibility of public transit. It all just adds character. The Tenderloin, while seedy at points, is NOT dangerous. Likewise, the only hostel I know of in the city that isn’t in the Tenderloin/Civic Center/SOMA (same general issues) or North Beach (strip clubs, bars, etc… not quiet at all) is at Fort Mason, which is nowhere near Market St.

LA obviously has hostels too, but I’m not familiar with them. As for hotels, The Alexandria is cheap and trippy (supposedly haunted, mostly an extended stay for drifters, runaways, poor 20-somethings who can’t find a permanent place to live, junkies, etc…). The Hollywood Historic Hotel is also cheap (just under $50/night, including private bathrooms which you won’t get in a hostel), in Hollywood, and more focused on tourists.

Yelp page for SF Hostels: http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=hostel&ns=1&find_loc=san+francisco%2C+ca

Also keep in mind SF has quite a few cheap extended stay hotels, typically with a month limit, for around $700-900/month… about the same price as a month in a hostel, but with a private room. I know the issue’s been discussed in the past, so do a search.

There are many coupon sites available that offer coupons and discount codes for variety of stores.

A good site is the following:
