Will tourists get discounts when they book hotel accommodations in Bangkok online?

another vote for agoda.com

called Worburie hotel on Suk Soi 4 and they wanted 1500 baht a night, informed them it was 1000 baht online could they give it for same price but they would not. Booked online no problem.

will use agoda again

    Yes, many of the websites that offer hotel rooms in Southeast Asia will generally get you cheaper rates than booking directly with the hotel; many of the online services for booking accommodation buy rooms from wholesalers and suppliers directly, or have direct contracts with certain hotels, so you can get a discounted rate. Agoda, as mentioned, is one supplier of hotel rooms & so are sites like hoteltravel.com.

    I live here and I have found when I travel some resorts will give better rates online than walk-in. It really depends on the hotel. When me and my educated wife travel we check online and call the hotel to get the best rates. Since my wife is a government employee she also gets very good discounts on rooms even better than the specials offered online.
