What is the cheapest way to travel in California?
Posted by admin
We are planning a trip from San Diego to Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo, then back to San Diego. We have checked amtrak and grey hound which is very expensive. Do you know of any other way to travel these routes that is also inexpensive?
The cheapest way would be to go to a local university student union and check the ride boards. See is you can put together a trip. There are UC campuses in San Diego and Santa Barbara, and there is Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and it should be easy to fund rides between these campuses.

Greyhound is the cheapest way. There is nothing cheaper except maybe hitchhiking.
