Where is a cheap place to vacation?

I’m from California, and I want to save up and go on a trip with my boyfriend. Problem: I don’t know how to find good deals!!! Any suggestions on where to go/what company to go through? Should I book the flight and hotel together? Should I do all-inclusive? Mexico? Europe? Australia?
All suggestions are welcome, I’m open to almost everything.. ps. Opinions on staying in hostels.
When I did a long term travel through Europe, I stayed in hostels. If you are on a budget, they are the way to go. Essentially you just get some beds in a room.
Anyway, visit a travel website like travelocity.com, orbitz.com, or expedia.com
You may also want to check the websites of the airlines that fly out of your local airport. (assuming you will be flying)

Out of those I’d say Mexico would be the cheapest me and my girlfriend are going to Cancun this summer and over all its pretty cheap (Not sure on the flight tickets though cause i got two for free) but i know if you book the flight a few months ahead of time you get a better deal however you guys might want to apply for your passports now. But I would also suggest the ticket/hotel all inclusive packages because even though it’s one big lump some of money everything’s covered and you don’t have to pay for 3 meals a day at restaurants and there’s no stress or getting things mixed up Still bring some extra cash tho cause i’m sure you’ll want to go out to eat at some point of the trip lol and then of course drinks and clubs depending on you’re age. As for Australia idk your budget but I heard it’s pretty expensive there & same with Europe.. Hope this helped some. Good luck!

I would apply for cruise trip. You can do it for under $500 all meals included.

Try to visit the Philippine islands like in Boracay or Bohol, really cheap!

There was a great company I went through called EF college tours, its for 18-26 year olds and they have trips from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, etc. I did the Europe up and down trip which was 18 days long and went to Amsterdam, Belgium, Paris, Rome, Florence and Athens. They have trips ranging from one week to 35 days. I absolutely loved my experience with them. There were lots of couples on my tour as well, so you and your boyfriend could go together. The most economical would be place that includes all inclusive package such as Jamaica, the Bahamas, Curacao, Brazil

If you are not looking for all inclusive, you will still save money if you book air and hotel together.
You will find better deals if you leave on Tues-Thursday versus the weekend.
