If I go travelling around America, where do you recommend I go?
Posted by admin
America is huge!! I would like to visit different places, places sensitive to travellers with youth hostels etc +fun things to do… and cover different geographies too, like the Grand Canyon/New York/California etc
Dont do tour !!!!!
I want travelling around america and missed all the best because of tour programs.
second time we went back
me my mate and his girlfriend bought a car in california for £500
we got to seattle and sold it for £600
added an an extra £50 and got a convertable we spent 1 month driving around america till we got to the east coast where we worked in bars illegally to make some cash so we could get to mexico city.
We met some strange people, wrote a book and now we are planing to drive across asia
if i was you id visit small towns, they are so innocent and dont pick any hitch hikers!!!

you could get on a tour like trek america that takes you the whole way – quite expensive but everyone I know who has been on one says it is worth it.
When I travelled through the US, I bought a rail pass and went wherever I felt like it. Get a good guidebook and you can figure it all out!
Happy travelling!

Green Tortoise bus!
Go and check out the Badlands and all the crazy landscape and natural wonders along the northern route across from San Francisco over to new York. In a month or two you’ll be able to see New England in the Fall too.

Go east (NYC) to west (San Francisco), its cheap enough. Plenty of hostels and cheap BBs. Travel by plane, amtrak train etc although cheaper to buy tickets in advance.
Grand Canyon OK but Yosemite NP much better. Give Las Vegas a go and recoup some of your dollars!!!
San AntonioTexas (Alamo), Washington DC (Arlington), Orlando (great fun).
Good food abound especially the Garlic resturant in San Francisco.
Wonderful country, enjoy your trip but plan it as best as possible first.

I totally recommend Chicago…
It is a beautiful city with incredible architecture, friendly people, loads of culture, great night life, award winning museums, the best food on the continent, etc. etc.
It is cheaper than New York, friendlier, and even cleaner.
My Kind of Town, Chicago is…
You won’t be disappointed.

i went to england+scotland and stayed in some youth hostels, i am pretty sure they dont have them in america. it depends what u want to do, if your into nature or whatever california is really cool for that and other things like theme parks and the ocean. Or Washington DC trip is the american equivalent of English London with tons of muesuems and the white house and memorials and stuff.
