Best hostels/backpackers in California?

Posted by admin

Who can recommend the best hostels/backpakers in California? I am 21yo and will be travelling 13 nights through California area, not exactly sure of my route just yet but I know I want to see Venice Beach, Hollywood, San Diego, San Fransisco……… any recommendations please? Cheers

There is a really cool youth hostel in Fullerton, Ca (Orange County..Southern California) It is an old house that sits on top of a wooded hill on Harbor Blvd behind Golfers Paradise. Short and cheap 5 minute cab ride to Downtown Fullerton which has the BEST nightlife anywhere in O.C. There are about 30+(low estimate) bars, restaurants and clubs all within walking distance to each other. It is the place to go on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights as well as for happy hours. I was born and raised in Fullerton and have never gotten sick of going to Downtown Fullerton. Fullerton is about 40 minutes from L.A. and about 1.5 hours from San Diego. Check it out…….if you are comfortable leaving your email, I will email you and answer any questions you have.

I don’t stay in hostels but I live in San Diego and this one has a great location and always seems to be busy:
