Cheap places to stay in Los Angeles, California?
Posted by admin
I’m a college student and I want to go to LA for my spring break. Does anyone from the area have any good recommendations of cheap places to stay there? Hostels, or hotels. Any ideas would be amazing
There are a number of hostels in Hollywood, and one in Santa Monica that are very good. USA Hostels and Banana Bungalow come to mind. Google "Hollywood Hostels" and take your pick.

Average cost of backpacking through Europe?
Posted by admin
I was wondering if anyone has gone backpacking through Europe within the past few years, and how much you have spent? I plan to spend maybe 2 weeks maximum. I’m from California. I plan to stay at hostels, and to travel by train. What was the grand total that you spent on the trip(including plane tickets, food, lodging, transportation). Thank you!
im from canada and when i first went i did a 3 week trip through holland france and spain. i got a eurrail pass thinking it would work out good, i spent about a grand on the pass and thought "oh i can hop on a train and go anywhere through holland france and spain", but i was wrong. in the fine print it tells you to look up the total cost of your train tickets but if your planing ahead you cant really do that cuz they dont ahve the prices till maybe id say give or take a month or 2. also, taking buses is sometimes cheapest, but depending where you wanna go maybe just try to get the tickets. ALSO one thing that really screwed me over is that with the pass you ahve to make reservations, some vary from a couple dollars to close to a hundred. you also cant make reservations unless your there. so thats kinda crappy. when i went i had about a grand and im pretty sure most of my hostels were paid for (sorry it was a couple years ago), but half the money i had was spent on train reservations.
YOU CAN DO IT CHEAP THOUGH! hostels costs probably on average 20 euros a night id say but if its a weekend factor it in. flight return is give or take a grand. if your gonna be flying from cali i suggest taking a flight to uk, then maybe cheap flight? theres also cheap airlines like easy jet in europe so it might be worth the while to fly ssome places instead of train. food can be done cheap if your not picky jsut go to a store, groceries in amsterdam are about 20 euro a week.
so with fflight being around a grand including insurance trains and eveyrhting id say your loooking around 2 grand. let me know if you need any more input or anything. i hope this is helpful
