best hotel deals for NYC?

Posted by admin

Okay, I will be in NYC from July 9th-11th. We’re a group of three adults and two children ages 11 and 12. Last month I was in NYC with a friend of mine, we got a cheap hotel but ended up staying at a really dirty and nasty place so is there any hotel deals that are reasonable but still in the city (preferably near the statue of liberty) and clean and spacious for all of us? By the way, how do you register for the bus tour? I’ve seen people riding buses (2-story) and looking through the city but can’t seem to find information on that online. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

DEFINITELY STAY IN HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA! The hotel is located right across the street from Penn Station/ Madison Square Garden which is also very close to Times Square. It was built in 1919 by McKim, Mead & White, They also designed The NYC Municipal building, original Penn Station, which used to stand in what is now Madison Garden, and many other US national landmarks. The hotel’s architecture is the gorgeous Neo-Renaissance style. the Hotel is very affordable. there are breathtaking views of the city from the bedrooms too. Glen Miller, the famous band leader, wrote the song Pennsylvania 6-5000 about the hotel. Glenn Miller also stayed and preformed in the hotel for his Honeymoon, and numerous other times. Hotel Pennsylvania for the last 90 years has been the worlds most popular hotel after serving over 3 million guests! Hotel Penn is very clean and satisfying, and has recently been renovated. Prices range from $99 and up. The hotel has also just recently one an award for being the "greenest" hotel in Manhattan. Unfortunately the Hotel is being threatened for demolition so enjoy the hotel while you can. Even if you don’t stay in this hotel pleasego and add the hotel on myspace and a facebook. If you would like to add them in myspace, their URL is http://www.myspace.com/savethehotel. On facebook, just search Save Hotel Pennsylvania. The official website of the hotel where you can learn more information on staying there is http://www.hotelpenn.com/. PLEASE HELP AND SAVE THE PAST!

Any good place to travel alone in Southern California region?

Posted by admin

I am 24 years old girl looking to travel alone for day or two during my day off.
I live in Los Angeles region and was wondering if anyone knew where I can go for relaxing day or two away from the stressful life (Southern California region).

Santa Barbara is a cool town with a great vibe. You can feel comfortable there. For a relaxing trip, take the train.

San Diego is good, too. Once again, take the train.

Honeymoon in California. Romantic hotels at decent price.?

Posted by admin

We’re wanting to take out honeymoon in Cali, and was wondering which hotels are the most beautiful, romantic.. Without paying 300 dollars a night. We’ve waited a very long time and I’d love for our first night together to be somewhere that just feels romantic. So give me your best ideas!!!

i think San Fran is the most beautiful city of all. there is no need to pay 300 a night for a hotel. try bidding for a hotel. any four star property will be nice. bid low . alternativly, try calling hotels and see if they have a honeymoon rate. some hotels will upgrade a couple , at the last minute if there is one available and they are aware it is a honeymoon or anniversary. hotels really like to do this for a honeymoon though. most honeymooners are just starting out and a great memory makes them a loyal customer for life.

Affordable beachside accommodation in Southern California?

Posted by admin

I am looking for an affordable place to stay for two nights this upcoming July that is beachside… as in, you can see the sun setting over the ocean from your beachy backyard. Although I would love the ocean to be a pebble’s throw away, this is not required… but I sure do want it to be really, really close.
The problem is all the places that offer this that I can find are very, very expensive. I am looking for something that is less than $100/night. I don’t care which beach it is, as long as it doesn’t go farther south than San Diego [I live in the Inland Empire].
Anybody know some affordable beachside accommodation? Hotel? Hostel? Beach House? Anything?!

$100? Not gonna happen for hotel accomodation.

Try www.vrbo.com It’s vacation rental homes.

Crystal Cove State Beach in Newport Beach has cabins that you can rent. They book up months in advance. Website below. They are right on the beach and you can sit on your patio and watch the sunset. You have to make your reservations on Reserve America.

Of course, you could camp next to a beach. A website with beaches you can camp on is below.

Has anyone every made hotel reservations on the internet, like through the discounts?

Posted by admin

I have never reserved a hotel before and, also i’ve never done it online, it will be my first time getting a hotel on my own. I’m also on a budget too, i need something under hundred, and in San Francisco.
somone answer my question????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes, I’ve done it. You can save money, but do some homework first. Hotel descriptions on websites are not always accurate or reliable. I once found a "good deal" and discovered that the hotel was a dump and in a bad neighborhood when I arrived. So much for saving money. I also worked for a travel website and descriptions of cheap hotels were frequently "optimistic".

San Francisco is an expensive city. Good luck finding something decent for under $100.

do i need a passport to travel from pennsylvania to california?

Posted by admin

i’m not an american citizen, i am a green card holder do i need a passport to travel from pennsylvania to california?

No, there’s no need to show your passport when you travel domestically in the US, even if you are a tourist. But sometimes they ask you for an ID when you board. A passport could satisfy such need.

Do you know any California hotels under $100 a night close by DisneyLand?

Posted by admin

It doesnt have to be a really nice hotel. Just a hotel. it needs to be tops $100 a night close by Disneyland. Do you know any??

I stayed at this hotel last year: http://www.pavilionshotel.com/

I just did a price check and it’s $95 a night, sometimes they have promotions. I think I paid $85 a night when I went last September. We took a car so the free parking was a plus.

They also have free wifi and they have a fridge and microwave in the rooms (we bought food at the Food-4-Less, 1616 West Katella Avenue, &kept it in the fridge or made it in the microwave, good way to save money).

They have a pool and they have a Denny’s right next door if you don’t want to pay to eat at Disneyland or Downtown Disney. They also have a minimart within walking distance.

To get to the parks we walked through the Disney employees parking lot which is across the street from the hotel (look on google maps or mapquest to see).

Just a tip, make sure you bring more money then what you planned already. The cost of food in the park is really expensive (Water $3.00, Churro $6.00, Sandwich $8.00) not to mention the overpriced souverniers.
