northern or isaan thailand…..long term stay hotel discounts????

Posted by admin

has anyone information on long term (retirement visa) discounts which hotels in northern or north east thailand will allow? i am trying to establish if renting an apartment is really cheaper in the long haul………than haggling for a good hotel on a long term basis.
the amenities of a good hotel would, i assume, be better than an apartment complex……and any constructional problem would be the hotels, not mine
does anyone have experience of discounts that specific hotels have made in the past?
i am loooking to the northern regions…..or isaan….rather than bangkok or the south.

many thanks to all who reply……………..

allan

I don’t think any hotel or guesthouse care what type of visa you have They only go for the money. But first remember the new visa rules that only allow you to stay 3 month. Then you have to leave the country for another 3 month before you can enter again.
Border visa runs is not allowed anymore.

For long term stay – its sure more cheap to rent.

You can easily in Isan find appartments for rent. Prices is from 1500-3000baht/month – some furnished, others not.

Where can I get the best deals on airfare/hotel packages for the Virgin Islands?

Posted by admin

My boyfriend and I want to spend a week in January down there. All we want is a hotel on the beach, where we can relax and bum around, and see sights when we feel like it. We are poor college students, so we want to save as much as possible without ending up in a gross hotel.

Any ideas? Any other destinations that may be cheaper?

I would do my research on line but I would also check with my local travel agency for any deals out there. They have the contacts with the airlines that on line websites don’t have.

Dominican Republic and Riviera Maya, Mexico have the best rates on all-inclusive resorts.

I would check these sites for deals and prices before checking with a TA so you have an idea on your destination and cost.

In my many years of traveling I have found booking land and air together saves $$$.

If you really are set on the Virgin Islands, many tourists rent villas/condos/houses and you can save money by having some meals in (breakfast and lunch) Happy hour on your terrace. Liquor in not expensive in the Virgin Islands. Here is a link to research.

which is the busiest day to travel California?

Posted by admin

Saturday or Sunday? I am leaving Los Angeles and heading north on the 5. A couple of weeks ago I went on a Sunday and the traffic was way worse then I remember it 9 months ago. The grapevine was very busy, and the 5 had a lot of traffic. Should I go on Saturday or Sunday?

Sunday is always the worse day as people are returning home from their weekend get aways.

Got to be at work on Monday.

What would you like to askCheap hotels near disneyland california?

anybodi kno any cheap hotels near disneyland. i kno they say u get wat u pay 4. let me kno. thanx

Super 8 Anaheim is your best bet. Its at 415w Katella. About a three block walk from Disneylands main gate, so not that far at all. Its a nice, clean, cheap place. Check out thier website at www.super8anahiem.com
Also, about four blocks from Disneyland, just down harbour blvd is the Travelodge International Inn. They are a bit nicer than the Super 8, but a bit more expensive too. All in all your best bet is that super 8. I have literally spent over $100,000 there.

Places to stay in O.C., California?

I’m asking for my little sis who is taking a road trip w. about 6 friends, guys and girls, before they all go off to college. I wondered if you all might know of any hotels that are fairly inexpensive, but nice and safe enough for 18-year olds, or possibly any youth hostels, in or around any of the following cities: Anaheim, Pico Rivera, Pasadena, Huntington, Long Beach, Laguna Nigel, Newport, Dana Point, etc.?

Pico Rivera isn’t a very good place for young people who aren’t familiar with the area to stay at. But for Pasadena, the motels on Colorado blvd, aren’t that expensive

Does anyone know of Disney hotel discounts for November?

Posted by admin

Disneyworld

Disney often discounts its hotel prices during the slower parts of the year–of which Novemebr other than Thanksgiving week is one–if its bookings are not running at the level they wish them to. See http://mousesavers.com for the most up to date information, and keep going back, since new discounts are released on an unpredictable schedule.

The other thing to keep in mind is that Disney has very different hotel prices at different times of the year, and also adds an upcharge to its basic schedule for a holiday weekend.

The best "discount" is thus to carefully pick when you go. In November there are two different resort price schedules–one through Thanksgiving week (with an additional upcharge for Thanksgiving weekend) and one for the remainder of the month–which has prices as low as they get in 2008.

See this page for details on the Walt Disney World resort price seasons: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/when-to-go/next-best-dates/seasonal-pricing-pay-more-to-wait-in-line-longer/

Hope this helps and have a great trip!! Dave

Will I be able to travel to Tennessee from California with just a paper drivers license?

Posted by admin

I just got my California drivers license and I am travelling to Tennessee to see my family for vacation. I didnt know it took 2-4 weeks to receieve your actual license. I have a paper license without my picture on it and the dmv says its just as good as your regular license. I dont have any other form of photo id and i leave this monday- im afraid without a photo id they wont let me travel. Ive called the airline several different times and have been given all different answers. Does anyone know if I can travel with a valid paper license without a picture on it?

I heard that they will require a form of an ID with a picture on it.
A credit card with a picture, a work badge with name and picture. Something.
