Work in California?
Posted by admin
Hi all,
yup Im not exactly asking for a job but some advice for a foreigner. Im italian, actually in Japan, and I`d like to live for a while in California. I have been asking yesterday if I need a visa, and I don`t need any if I have a return ticket before 90 days, which annoys me because I hate to plan return…
Ok, so I need to know if its possible to work a little there, because I need to know how long I can afford to stay. I speak french and italian as mother tongue, and my english is .. ok. Do you have any idea of what kind of job I could do? Can I apply from here, that would be much easier for me to get a work visa.. Do you any adress of hostels you can work during the morning for a few hours and then sleep for free in SanFrancisco or LA?
So, thanks for reading, I hope you don`t mind that kind of questions..
Technically, that 90 day visa applies only to tourists. You need a work visa for legal employment. But there are millions of illegal immigrants in California. So for low wage or temporary jobs, employers might "forget" to ask. But if you tell the immigration officer you’re looking for a job without a work visa, you will be denied entry.
San Francisco has a large Italian-American community. Most locals would describe the city as: (1) "bellissimo" and (2) "centro-sinistra."
I doubt there are job openings at the hostels. But you can certainly call them from Japan and ask.

If you’re educated, a university exchange program can help you obtain a work visa. Many San Francisco area universities (UC Berkeley, Stanford University, University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, San Jose State) have Italian programs, and you might find work as a teaching assistant or tutor.
If you can cook or charm the customers, you might be able to find work in North Beach (Little Italy). Having someone who understands Italian cuisine and language will certainly help their business.
I was told that doing a timeshare presentation could get you a free hotel stay or tickets, discounts, etc?

I have never done one before but I am planning a trip to Las Vegas soon and thought about this but cant find any websites about it.
Does anyone have any info…..Thanks in advance
Total waste of valuable vacation time. It is like summer school. Lots of pressure and not worth it. The shows they give you tickets for are same day tickets for the standard Vegas shows. You can buy those tickets at ticket broker kiosks all over the Strip half price. So you will waste a whole day being pressured to buy something no one wants and you will get tickets worth about $20.

what are the best hotel deals i can find for wedding packages in makati or mandaluyong?
Posted by admin
Are we talking 5-star hotels? If so, try Crowne Plaza right beside Robinson’s Galleria. Or Holiday Inn, while you’re there.
Those are the only two hotels I could think of that are in Mandaluyong.
Makati… Shangrila and Intercon. Manila Penn maybe.
Good luck!

Are there any hotels in southern California with hot tub rooms?
Posted by admin
We don’t want to drive all the way to vegas. Any suggestions
I don’t know about actual hot tubs. But Shutters Hotel on the Beach in Santa Monica has super romantic rooms with jacuzzi bath tubs that are big enough for two people. You can see photos if you go to the website.
16 &17 year olds taking a roadtrip! seeking advice: youth hostels, things to do, etc.?
Posted by admin
Hi, i am 17 years old and my friend is 16 years old, we are taking a road trip over spring break down to california( i live in washington) and we are looking for places to stay along the way such as hostels that will accept 16 & 17 year olds to stay there without an adult. Its not that our parents dont know were going, its just that we are taking this trip with out them and most places you have to have an adult over 21 accompanying you. any information would be GREATLY appreciated
i’m sorry if this makes any of you uncomfortable as the first poster mentioned, i am not a middle aged creep! haha, i am 17 years old, the reason for the road trip is its going to be spring break and my friend and i have no plans and really want to get out and have an adventure! thank you for your help though it really is much appreciated! and i will keep in mind everything, i know it is very difficult to travel like this without being of legal age, but thats why i’m asking for help ![]()
wow vernon w… no need to be rude, i am simply asking for some advice and information. the reason i said that about being a "middle aged creep" was because one poster mentioned that i might be one and it made him feel uncomfortable and he said that people that felt uncomfortable would not answer my question. there was really no need at all for you to be so rude about it. i am very mature for my age, so why dont you grow up and learn to be nice to others.
if your parents call ahead to hotels and give their credit card number and their permission for you to stay some places will let you check in and stay with no parents.

What is the best hotel deal in Niagara Falls?
Posted by admin
We want to go for a little getaway from July 2nd to the 4th and want to get one of those deals where you get like your meals and some activities included. We wanna do a wine tour maybe or the butterfly conservatory.
Anyways, has anyone done one of these deals and what is the best one that you have come across – there are too many online to sort through… it can be Canada or the US Niagara Falls too – whatever is the best deal!
It seems there’s some great current Niagara Falls deals online these days on Expedia. They have a 30% sale on some hotels stays. BTW, this is mostly for the Canada Niagara Falls, I think.

Roughly 3 days and 3 hours, or a little longer, depending on the bus stops. I used Maps.Google.com, so oyu can use it to.
