A friend and I want to take a drive and stay in Breckenridge over night. Any tips for finding the best deal? I’ve tried Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline, etc., but they’ve had my head spinning. So far, the best price I’ve found for an overnight stay is $136. I’d love a tip from someone who’s a better searcher than I am.
Bottom line, we’re looking for a hotel that’s in walking distance to Main St in Breck, with two Qn-sized beds, hotel spa services, to arrive on Friday 7/25 and depart on Sat 7/26.

Find a hotel that you like within price.
Then go directly to that Hotels company website (E.G. Hilton) and look up their online rate directly. Then call the hotel itself, not the 800# and tell them what price you find online, and they’ll match it or beat it for you.

Before you do so, be aware that being a travel agent is no longer a big profit-making profession. Many travelers make their own reservations, plus the airlines don’t pay commissions like they used to. According to some articles I’ve read, the folks who continue in business focus on detailed vacation planning for a limited number of established customers.
Sorry that I can’t answer the part about certification in California. I do know that some community colleges offer certificate programs in travel planning–you might want to look at the website for the closest community college to where you live.

Is it unsafe for a 20 year old female to travel and stay in hostels?

Im only 18 now but i was thinking when im about 20 i think it would be a good time to travel the world, amsterdam, ireland, australia california hawaii i was wondering if its okay to travel alone when your 20 and female. Is it safe? i would go with someone but i feel like i would get to do what I want to do more if i was alone. Is it safe to stay in hostels and "backpack"? or would i be better in hotels? or should i definately go with someone else?..maybe my brother?
In 2005, when I was 20 I traveled throughout Europe (13 countries) by myself. I backpacked and stayed in hostels, and I was fine. I never felt threatened or nervous about traveling by myself either. Fact is, you meet new people who are traveling and doing the same thing you’re doing… so you end up hanging out with people you click with and you aren’t alone that often. And, yes… I’m a female.
I live in California and I would say that some of it is ok to do by yourself. I would stay out of some icky neighborhoods in Los Angeles and the like, but overall I think you would be fine. Hawaii would be ok, too.
I don’t know about Australia though.
I totally recommend you do it. Traveling alone was the best thing I ever did for myself. You have to step outside of your comfort zone and meet new people. You also learn how to trust yourself.
It’s an awesome experience!

The problem with LA is that you can’t be close to EVERYTHING. It’s too spread out.
Most people who come to LA stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim.
In Hollywood, I recommend the Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood and Highland, the Best Western Sunset Plaza, or the Holiday Inn Walk of Fame.
In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced.
In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn.
how long would it take to travel from California to Buenos Aires by car?

I was actually thinking of traveling all the way to the tip of Argentina from California by car, but approximation from California to Buenos Aires is enough to help on my calculation. What are the nicest hotels in or around Temecula, California?

I can easily come up with a list of hotel names, but I want a better idea of which of those names belongs to the nicer and classier of hotels. It is for my wedding night, this Saturday evening, and we will be arriving in a limo.
Thanks for the answers so far. Fortunately, a friend has bought us a room at the Inn at Churon Winery, which I noticed is quite luxurious. We are excited.
I visit Temecula all the time. The Pechanga Casino is nice if you would like to have fun and some drinks. The hotel is nice also. The best hotel would probably be the one in wine country Temecula which is the South Coast Winery Spa and Resort. Both this and Pechanga are rated at 4 stars. You can get nicer rooms in Pechanga also but it will cost a little more. Good luck with the Wedding!
