Ever heard of promotional code hacks for car rental or hotel discounts?

You know there are hacks and cracks for software serial numbers and license codes and I was just wondering if anyone ever heard of a hack or crack to get a discount on car rental or hotel reservation. When you make a reservation on line or otherwise there is such a thing as a promotional discount code to get a further discount. I don’t think this is a big deal cause when I rent a hotel room they ask if I have any AAA or other. Often when I ask if they have a discount for a hotel room they just give me the AAA discount. I don’t think the premise of a promotional discount is that special anyway.
One example of a promo code I think is if an airline and a car rental company is working together and if you buy an airline ticket they give you a promo code on the ticket envelope to apply to a car rental discount to get you to select the car rental company they are partners with

Can you study abroad if you are from a college in S.California wanting to travel to another country?

Has anyone ever had the chance to be an exchange student, from a 2 or 4 year college in S. California to travel to another country? How did you get picked to do this? Was it expensive? Did you get a scholarship?
Of course; just about every college has study abroad opportunities these days, including community colleges. You apply to go, and it is usually a matter of fist come, first served, if you meet the GPA requirements.
The cost of study abroad can vary, depending upon what is included and whose program you are in. Syracuse University, for example, has very expensive programs, but many believe them to be among the best in the country. Others are lower in cost, but may not include much so that it ends up costing you more in the long run. I know that some schools will tell you that the cost is no higher, other than airfare, than going to school in the U.S. The thing to keep in mind is that there is an opportunity cost, because you can’t usually hold a paid job while you are abroad, as you might in the U.S.
If you do study abroad while you are enrolled in school, your normal financial aid package will apply. If you normally get a scholarship, you can use it for study abroad. There are a few scholarships available at some schools for such programs (at my last school, which was in SoCal, we had scholarships to allow Honors students study abroad), but the only school I know of with a lot of support especially for students studying abroad is the University of Denver, which got an endowment to pay the difference between normal costs and study abroad for any student who couldn’t otherwise afford it.
Having said all of that, I want to encourage you to take any opportunity you can to study abroad. Don’t just go to a conventional place. This is probably the only time in your life you will have to spend 4 months in another culture and to really understand what it is to live in another part of the world. It is a great thing, and I highly recommend it.
Why do the hotels in Anaheim, California and most of Orange County refuse to hire blacks?

Why do hotels in Anaheim, California and most of Orange County like the Doubletree and Embassy Suites refuse to hire blacks and only hire Hispanics for hard labor and whites for prestigious positions? But they totally leave out blacks?
I don’t mean to instigate, but how do you have proof of this? Or are you just making a generalization (which I actually would agree with)?
The only rationale I could come up with is that Orange County is predominantly a republican area, with very conservative, traditional beliefs. Therefore, outside of the box thinking is not something they’re used to.
Hostels in California. Is there an age limit when looking for cheap accomodation, on a tight budget?

I dont think so, i travelled around california and stayed in hostels and no one ever asked me my age, i was 19 and the youngest i came across staying at the hostels was about 17. Just check when you go to book which ever hostel you choose.

Me and five of my friends are looking for a hotel in Myrtle Beach, and there are so many sites to research with so many resorts and hotels, I would like to narrow it down to a couple sites. Which one would you recommend and what reasons?
www.hotwire.com is great. Lots of really nice hotels for a lot cheaper than other sites, and often the same price as crappy hotels.
California Travel?

I will be staying in Irvine,Ca for a few days for some training this August. I wanted to travel up to see the Sequoia National Park and possibly even Yosemite if I could. Could someone give me some basic tips about real world times for driving from Irvine? If not possible, maybe some good places to stay (and possibly fly out of) around the parks? Thanks,
It’s an easy drive from Irvine the 5 to the 99 – about an hour before Fresno is the Sequoia Kings Canyon Exit – in Fresno is one of the Yosemite exits. At Sequoia you will probably need to stay at the lodge or in a campesite other accomodations are far away. Be sure to climb Morro Rock. It’s just a trail and rock carved stairs but the view from 5,000 ft up into the desert is WOW!
At Yosemite you probably need to stay outside the park. most places are booked early you might get lucky. there are numerous places in Oakhurst.
